        Like GSA, the DOD (Department Of Defense) is one of the largest
agencies the U.S. Government utilizes in the liquidation of government
surplus items, by using the 'Auctions' and 'Sales' arena. The DOD is where
all four branches of the U.S. Military combine their excess merchandise  to
sell to the public via the auction process. Computers, Office Equipment,
Aircraft Parts and Cars/Trucks, to name only a few, are a few of the many
items available that can be of benefit to both Individuals and Business
Owners can really use.

Military surplus personal property is sold by the Defense Logistics Agency's Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service through its regional offices worldwide. A free booklet, How To Buy Surplus Propertyfrom the U.S. Department of Defense, lists these offices and some 20 categories of goods. To request a copy, call 1 (888) 352-9333.

        Although, Military Sales seem to be 'sort of a secret' to auction goers, the DOD is known for selling items at extremely low prices.        These office's are affiliated with auctions all over the Unite States, often held at a Military Base. The sales number into the 100's each year (that's one about every three days). Although, these sales may not be frequent in your area, the short travel can well worth while!
